Ulf Hackauf is a research and teacher at the chair of Environmental Technology and Design. He graduated as architect from the Technische Universität in Braunschweig, Germany and worked as project architect in several architecture firms in the Netherlands. From 2008 to 2014 he was part of The Why Factory/TU Delft. Next to the MSc Urbanism program, Ulf also teaches in the MSc Industrial Ecology.

Ulf is interested in how urban planning and design can improve resource management in urban areas. In his PhD research, he focusses on the spatial characteristics of urban environments that enable or limit local management of resource flows. He uses parametric design studies to explore these space/flow relations within urban neighbourhoods.

Ulf is interested in mentoring projects that improve local management of essential flows through principle and quantified analysis, leading to integrated and synergetic spatial solutions.
